The picture on the left shows an engine that we experimented with. It put out just a tick under 5 peak horsepower in our dyno tests. The testing was done with a Tillotson carburetor and an RLV tuned exhaust pipe. Presently we have plans to develop our own tuned pipe. This type of modification is for experienced drivers who are ready to go faster. Some driving coaches like to use a more powerful engine for practice purposes and may want to consider modifications like this. This engine set-up may also be an alternative transition class for 7 and 8 year old drivers who still fit well in a kid kart. This is a new thing that we are experimenting with and still don't have fixed pricing figured out for this type of custom work. Call or email us if your are interested in doing something like this. |

Other Services and Trick Items We are hesitant to list these services and items because too many racers will just start buying the single "hot" item that they think will solve their particular problem or propel them to the front. Kart racing does not work that way. The real trick is to make sure ALL of the basics are spot on and to tune and match things up so that every part of the kart is working in harmony with the other parts...including the driver. Notes About Engine Blueprinting Here's my take on our blueprinted engines. Unless requested otherwise, I build my "blueprinted" engines to be LEGAL at the Kid Kart Nationals. This is the strictest kid kart engine rule set that I am aware of. I will never make claims like "our blueprinted engines are the quickest, or are hand picked from select serial numbers" or anything like that. What we do is build a solid engine that goes right up to the limits without going over them. They are engines that a competent technical inspector will do a thorough inspection on and still pass. They are meant to be a solid foundation for a kid kart race team. To be successful with these engines the racer will have to learn to tune the engine for varying atmospheric conditions (To help with that read this.) The racer also needs to realize that everything on the kart must be aligned and set-up right to compliment the engine. One might think that all they need to be "legal" is buy a new engine, take it out of the box and assume it's ok. The truth is, there is very good chance that the engine is not legal according to the rules. In the past year, almost every new engine that I have built had at least one technical inspection item that would not have passed a legitimate inspection. There are a lot of good running "legal" engines being beat by engines that are coming right out of the box. There is probably nothing wrong with the legal engines but there is a really good chance that the combustion chamber cc are too low, and igniton timing too advanced, items that make a huge difference, in those engines that have not been blueprinted.
